The Bible says that you will die if you live according to the flesh; and you will live if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.”

On the other hand, the Quran says that Allah, the Almighty Creator, has neither a son nor a partner.

On the other hand, the Quran makes it very clear and says that Allah, the Almighty Creator, has neither a son nor a partner.

The Quran decisively forbids saying that Allah has a son.

It is not befitting for the Majesty of Allah to take to Himself a son.

Allah has not taken any son either from the Children of Adam or from the angels.

if there were a god along with Allah, each god would have taken away what he created, he would have made it exclusively his and prevented the other [god] from having any mastery over it; and some of them would surely rise up against others, in challenge, just as the kings of this world are wont to do.

Allah is the Knower of the Unseen and the visible, what is hidden and what is observed.  And exalted, magnified, be He above what they associate!, with Him of son or partners.  Allah is far transcendent above all that they ascribe unto Him!

In Islam, this point is very important faith wise.

Again, it is unforgivable sin to say or to believe that the One Almighty Creator [who is Allah or God or the Lord or Jehovah or whatever name(s) you are giving Him] has a son or Sons.

From the Islamic point of view, the conclusion of this essential topic that may establish or destroy the faith is that:

Any one who believe that the Almighty Creator has a son or Sons; he messes his faith up and is considered as a disbeliever and in the afterlife he will end up as an eternal inhabitant of the hell.

Any one who believes that the Almighty Creator has neither a son nor a partner he has a good faith and is considered as a believer and in the afterlife he will end up as an eternal inhabitant of the paradise.

Verses 25:1-3 make the issue of the son(s) of God clear.

The meanings of verse 25:1

 

Blessed is Allah who revealed the Criterion (Al-Furq?n), the Quran.  Al-Furq?n is the pronunciation of an Arabic word that is derived from the root faraqa.  Faraqa means to differentiate or to discriminate between two things.  Hence, the Quran is called Al-Furq?n because it has discriminated between truth and falsehood.

Blessed is Allah who sent The Angel Gabriel with the Quran unto His servant, Muhammad, so that he may warn, all the worlds and threatens of Allah’s chastisement. All the worlds herein mean mankind and the jinn, but not the angels.

What is the meaning of Blessed is (Allah who revealed the Quran)?

It means that Allah is the Possessor of grace and He is exalted and transcendent above and exonerated from having a son or partner.

 

The meanings of verse 25:2

 

Unto Allah belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth, and He has not taken a son, nor has He any partner in sovereignty; and He created everything, which was meant to be created, and then determined it in a precise and a specific measure, He fashioned it in a balanced form.

 

The meanings of verse 25:3

 

Yet they, the disbelievers, have taken other than Allah, gods, from among the idols, who create nothing but have themselves been created, and who possess no harm for themselves, that is, [the power] to repel it, nor any benefit, that is, [the power] to attract it, nor do they possess [any power over] death or life, that is, [nor do they have the power] to make a person die or to give him life, they have no ability to diminish one’s life nor to increase one’s life.  It is also said that this means: they are unable either to create a sperm drop or to place therein the spirit, nor do they have power to raise the dead after they die, the resurrection.

Verse 25:3

 

QARIB: yet they worship, other than him, gods which cannot create anything and were themselves created. they own neither harm nor benefit for themselves, neither do they own death nor life, nor a resurrection.

SHAKIR: and they have taken besides him gods, who do not create anything while they are themselves created, and they control not for themselves any harm or profit, and they control not death nor life, nor raising (the dead) to life

PICKTHAL: yet they choose beside him other gods who create naught but are themselves created, and possess not hurt nor profit for themselves, and possess not death nor life, nor power to raise the dead.

YUSUFALI: yet have they taken, besides him, gods that can create nothing but are themselves created; that have no control of hurt or good to themselves; nor can they control death nor life nor resurrection.

In the Quran: What about those who believed in Allah, Muhammad and the Quran?

This is the 17th article of the series:” The Sons of the Lord God in Bible versus Quran”. 

In the Bible, Paul affirms the Faith in the Son of God by saying that Jesus is the son of God and he is the owner of everything; he is the lord of all.  The Noble Quran says that Jesus is but a Messenger and it is an unforgivable sin when you say or believe that the Almighty Creator has a son or sons; this major sin will lead to the Eternal Fire in the Hereafter.

What I am saying is that as long as the heir is a child, he is no different from a slave, although he owns the whole estate.  He is subject to guardians and trustees until the time set by his father. So also, when we were children, we were in slavery under the basic principles of the world.  But when the time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under law, to redeem those under law, that we might receive the full rights of sons.  Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba, Father.” So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a son, God has made you also an heir.

The Sons of the Lord God in the Quran (17)

 

The Noble Quran makes the topic of the son(s) of God very clear and says that Allah, the Almighty Creator, has neither a son nor a partner.

In addition, The Quran makes the signs that Jesus was not god very understandable.

The Historical background of the verse 4:172:

The top Christians priests of Najran (the south of Saudi Arabia) went to the Prophet Muhammad and said: ‘O Muhammad, why do you insult our lord?’

Muhammad said: ‘And who is your lord?’

They said: ‘It is Jesus’.

Muhammad: ‘Why, what do I say about him?’ he asked.

They said: ‘You say he is the salve and messenger of Allah!’

Muhammad said to them: ‘It is not shameful for Jesus to be a slave of Allah’.

But they said: ‘It is shameful’,

And then the verse 4:172 (The Messiah, Jesus will never scorn to be a slave unto Allah) was revealed”.

It should be emphasized that it is unforgivable sin to say or to believe that the One Almighty Creator [who is Allah or God or the Lord or Jehovah or whatever name(s) you are giving Him] has a son or Sons.

From the Islamic point of view, the conclusion of this fundamental topic that may establish or destroy one’s faith is that:

Any one who believe that the Almighty Creator has a son or Sons; he messes up his faith and is considered as a disbeliever and in the afterlife he will end up as an eternal inhabitant of the Eternal Hell.

Any one who believes that the Almighty Creator has neither a son nor a partner, he has a good faith and is considered as a believer; and in the afterlife, he will end up as an eternal inhabitant of the Eternal Paradise. 

Verses 4:172-173 make the topic of the son(s) of God plain, clear and understandable.

Verse 4:172

The Historical background of the verse:

The top Christians priests of Najran (the south of Saudi Arabia) went to the Prophet Muhammad and said: ‘O Muhammad, why do you insult our lord?’

Muhammad said: ‘And who is your lord?’

They said: ‘It is Jesus’.

Muhammad said: ‘Why, what do I say about him?’ he asked.

They said: ‘You say he is the salve and messenger of Allah!’

Muhammad said to them: ‘It is not shameful for Jesus to be a slave of Allah’.

But they said: ‘It is shameful’,

The meanings of verse 4:172

 

Jesus, the Messiah, whom you claim is a god or son of God, would never disdain, or scorn or reject haughtily, to be a servant of God, neither would the angels who are nigh, to God, disdain to be Allah’ servants.

this is a splendid digression [to the matter of the angels], and it is mentioned as a refutation of those who claim that the angels are gods or the daughters of God, just as He refuted, with what was stated before, the Christians who claim that which is the subject of the address to them [above]. Whoever disdains to worship Him, and waxes proud, He will assuredly muster all of them to Him in the Hereafter.

In other words, the verse says that Jesus will never scorn to be a slave unto Allah) he will never deny his servitude to Allah.

This was revealed in respect of the top Christians priests of Najran saying to the Prophet: “O Muhammad, what you say of Jesus is shameful”. Allah said to them: it is not shameful that Jesus is Allah’ servant, nor would the favored angels ever not acknowledge that they are servants of Allah. Whoever scorns to acknowledge that being his servant (and is proud) is too proud to believe in Allah, (all such) believers and unbelievers will Allah assemble unto Him on the Day of Judgment.

 

The meanings of verse 4:173

 

As for those who believed in Allah, Muhammad and the Quran and did righteous deeds, that are acts of obedience in that which is between them and their Lord, Allah will pay them in full their wages, the reward for faith and deeds, and He will give them more of His bounty, what no eye has seen, no ear has heard and no man’s heart has ever wished for.

And as for them who disdain and are too proud to believe in Allah Muhammad and the Quran, Allah will chastise them with a painful chastisement, which is the chastisement of the Eternal Fire, and they shall not find for themselves, besides God, that is, other than Him, any friend, to ward it off them, or helper, to protect them from it.

In other words, Allah will punish them with a painful doom; and they will not find for them, against Allah, any protecting friend, any relative to benefit them or helper to save them from Allah’s punishment.

QARIB: the messiah would not despise being a worshiper of Allah, nor would the angels who are near. whosoever despises worshipping him, and becomes proud, he will surely assemble them all to him.

SHAKIR: the messiah does by no means disdain that he should be a servant of Allah, nor do the angels who are near to him, and whoever disdains his service and is proud, he will gather them all together to himself

PICKTHAL: the messiah will never scorn to be a slave unto Allah, nor will the favoured angels. whoso scorneth his service and is proud, all such will he assemble unto him;

YUSUFALI: christ disdaineth nor to serve and worship Allah, nor do the angels, those nearest (to Allah): those who disdain his worship and are arrogant,-he will gather them all together unto himself to (answer).

 

Verse 4:173

QARIB: as for those who believe and did good deeds, he will pay them in full their wages, and he will increase them from his bounty. as for those who despise and became proud, he will punish them with a painful punishment, and they will find neither a guide nor a helper for themselves, other than Allah.

SHAKIR: then as for those who believe and do good, he will pay them fully their rewards and give them more out of his grace; and as for those who disdain and are proud, he will chastise them with a painful chastisement. and they shall not find for themselves besides Allah a guardian or a helper

In the Bible, Paul affirms the Faith in the Son of God by saying that Jesus is the son of God and he is the owner of everything; he is the lord of all.  The Noble Quran says that Jesus is but a Messenger and it is an unforgivable sin when you say or believe that the Almighty Creator has a son or sons; this major sin will lead to the Eternal Fire in the Hereafter.

What I am saying is that as long as the heir is a child, he is no different from a slave, although he owns the whole estate.  He is subject to guardians and trustees until the time set by his father. The Sons of the Lord God in the Quran (17)

 

The Noble Quran makes the topic of the son(s) of God very clear and says that Allah, the Almighty Creator, has neither a son nor a partner.

In addition, The Quran makes the signs that Jesus was not god very understandable.

The Historical background of the verse 4:172:

The top Christians priests of Najran (the south of Saudi Arabia) went to the Prophet Muhammad and said: ‘O Muhammad, why do you insult our lord?’

Muhammad said: ‘And who is your lord?’

They said: ‘It is Jesus’.

Muhammad: ‘Why, what do I say about him?’ he asked.

They said: ‘You say he is the salve and messenger of Allah!’

Muhammad said to them: ‘It is not shameful for Jesus to be a slave of Allah’.

But they said: ‘It is shameful’,

And then the verse 4:172 (The Messiah, Jesus will never scorn to be a slave unto Allah) was revealed”.

It should be emphasized that it is unforgivable sin to say or to believe that the One Almighty Creator [who is Allah or God or the Lord or Jehovah or whatever name(s) you are giving Him] has a son or Sons.

From the Islamic point of view, the conclusion of this fundamental topic that may establish or destroy one’s faith is that:

Any one who believe that the Almighty Creator has a son or Sons; he messes up his faith and is considered as a disbeliever and in the afterlife he will end up as an eternal inhabitant of the Eternal Hell.

Any one who believes that the Almighty Creator has neither a son nor a partner, he has a good faith and is considered as a believer; and in the afterlife, he will end up as an eternal inhabitant of the Eternal Paradise. 

Verses 4:172-173 make the topic of the son(s) of God plain, clear and understandable.

this is a splendid digression [to the matter of the angels], and it is mentioned as a refutation of those who claim that the angels are gods or the daughters of God, just as He refuted, with what was stated before, the Christians who claim that which is the subject of the address to them [above]. Whoever disdains to worship Him, and waxes proud, He will assuredly muster all of them to Him in the Hereafter.

In other words, the verse says that Jesus will never scorn to be a slave unto Allah) he will never deny his servitude to Allah.

This was revealed in respect of the top Christians priests of Najran saying to the Prophet: “O Muhammad, what you say of Jesus is shameful”. Allah said to them: it is not shameful that Jesus is Allah’ servant, nor would the favored angels ever not acknowledge that they are servants of Allah. Whoever scorns to acknowledge that being his servant (and is proud) is too proud to believe in Allah, (all such) believers and unbelievers will Allah assemble unto Him on the Day of Judgment.

As for those who believed in Allah, Muhammad and the Quran and did righteous deeds, that are acts of obedience in that which is between them and their Lord, Allah will pay them in full their wages, the reward for faith and deeds, and He will give them more of His bounty, what no eye has seen, no ear has heard and no man’s heart has ever wished for.

And as for them who disdain and are too proud to believe in Allah Muhammad and the Quran, Allah will chastise them with a painful chastisement, which is the chastisement of the Eternal Fire, and they shall not find for themselves, besides God, that is, other than Him, any friend, to ward it off them, or helper, to protect them from it.

In other words, Allah will punish them with a painful doom; and they will not find for them, against Allah, any protecting friend, any relative to benefit them or helper to save them from Allah’s punishment.

In the Quran: What are the possessions of Allah?

This is the 11th article of the series:” The Sons of the Lord God in Bible versus Quran”. 

In the Bible, Saint Paul says:

For the anxious longing of the creation waits eagerly for the revealing of the sons of God (the Almighty Creator).   For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God.

On the other hand, in the Allah, the Almighty Creator has no son, no children and no partner. to Him belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth, as possessions, creatures and servants, and this sovereignty contradicts having a child.

In the Bible, Saint Paul says:

For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God.

Herein, Saint Paul uses two expression, first the sons of God and second, the children of God.  This is, of course, apart from the Lord Jesus as, according to the Christian faith, the sole son of God father, the Almighty Creator.

The Sons of the Lord God in the Quran (11)

 

On the other hand, the Quran makes it very clear and says that Allah, the Almighty Creator, has neither a son nor a partner.

The Quran decisively forbids saying that Allah has a son.

It is not befitting for the Majesty of Allah to take to Himself a son.

Allah has not taken any son either from the Children of Adam or from the angels.

if there were a god along with Allah, each god would have taken away what he created, he would have made it exclusively his and prevented the other [god] from having any mastery over it; and some of them would surely rise up against others, in challenge, just as the kings of this world are wont to do.

Allah is the Knower of the Unseen and the visible, what is hidden and what is observed.  And exalted, magnified, be He above what they associate!, with Him of son or partners.  Allah is far transcendent above all that they ascribe unto Him!

In Islam, this point is very important faith wise.

Again, it is unforgivable sin to say or to believe that the One Almighty Creator [who is Allah or God or the Lord or Jehovah or whatever name(s) you are giving Him] has a son or Sons.

The meaning of verse 2:116

 

And some people claim that the angels are God’s daughters while other people say that ‘God has taken unto Himself a Son;

Allah replied them and says:

Glory be to Him!, as a way of exalting Himself above this; Nay, to Him belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth, as possessions, creatures and servants, and this sovereignty contradicts having a child,

All of His entire creations obey His will, submitting to that which is required from each one of them: here the emphasis is on rational beings.

In other words, God is far exalted to have a son or partner (Nay) it is not as they say, (but whatsoever is in the heavens and the earth) of creation (is His) are His servants. (All are subservient unto Him) linked to Him by the bond of servitude and the declaration of His Oneness.

 

The meaning of verse 2:117

 

He is the Originator of the heavens and the earth! He originated them when they were nothing before. He is the Creator of the heavens and the earths, making them exist without any exemplary precedent;  and when He decrees, wills, a thing, to exist, He but says to it ‘Be’ and it is, that is to say, it becomes.

This means that when He wants to create a child without a father, like Jesus, (He saith unto it only: Be!) be a child without a father, just like Adam was without a father or mother, (And it is).

On the other hand, in the Allah, the Almighty Creator has no son, no children and no partner. to Him belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth, as possessions, creatures and servants, and this sovereignty contradicts having a child.

In the Bible, Saint Paul says:

For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God.

Herein, Saint Paul uses two expression, first the sons of God and second, the children of God.  This is, of course, apart from the Lord Jesus as, according to the Christian faith, the sole son of God father, the Almighty Creator.

The Sons of the Lord God in the Quran (11)

 

On the other hand, the Quran makes it very clear and says that Allah, the Almighty Creator, has neither a son nor a partner.

The Quran decisively forbids saying that Allah has a son.

It is not befitting for the Majesty of Allah to take to Himself a son.

Allah has not taken any son either from the Children of Adam or from the angels.

if there were a god along with Allah, each god would have taken away what he created, he would have made it exclusively his and prevented the other [god] from having any mastery over it; and some of them would surely rise up against others, in challenge, just as the kings of this world are wont to do.

Allah is the Knower of the Unseen and the visible, what is hidden and what is observed.  And exalted, magnified, be He above what they associate!, with Him of son or partners.  Allah is far transcendent above all that they ascribe unto Him!

In Islam, this point is very important faith wise.

Again, it is unforgivable sin to say or to believe that the One Almighty Creator [who is Allah or God or the Lord or Jehovah or whatever name(s) you are giving Him] has a son or Sons.

From the Islamic point of view, the conclusion of this essential topic that may establish or destroy the faith is that:

Any one who believe that the Almighty Creator has a son or Sons; he messes his faith up and is considered as a disbeliever and in the afterlife he will end up as an eternal inhabitant of the hell.

Any one who believes that the Almighty Creator has neither a son nor a partner he has a good faith and is considered as a believer and in the afterlife he will end up as an eternal inhabitant of the paradise.

This is Allah (66) Allah Caused the Israelites to Inherit the Land Which ?

Many people do not know Allah. This series (1-66) is an attempt to help them to know their Creator.

Verses 7:137-138 of the Noble Quran talk about: 1) Allah caused the Israelites to inherit the land which Allah had blessed, 2) Why did Allah reward the Israelites with victory?

3) Allah annihilated all that Pharaoh and his folk had done of castles and townships, 4) Who were the people whom the Israelites have seen after their Exodus from Egypt? 5) What the Israelites said unto Moses when they have seen the idolaters? 6) What Moses has replied the Israelites when they asked him to make for them an idol?

And Allah bequeathed upon the Children of Israel, the people who were oppressed, through bondage, the eastern parts of the land and the western parts thereof which Allah had blessed, with water, fertile land, fruits and trees.

And the fair word of your Lord was fulfilled, which was His saying, exalted be He (in verse 28:5):

Yet We desired to be gracious to those who were oppressed in the land, namely, the Children of Israel because they endured patiently, persecution at the hands of their enemy.

And Allah destroyed utterly what Pharaoh and his folk had been creating, by way of architecture, and what they had been erecting, what they had been raising of edifices.

In other words, Allah caused the folk who were despised, who were humiliated to inherit the eastern and the western parts of the land the land thereof which Allah had blessed, with water and trees.  And the fair word of the Lord to reward them with victory was fulfilled and became incumbent for the Children of Israel because of their endurance in the face of affliction;

it is also said: for their endurance upon their religion; and Allah annihilated, destroyed all that Pharaoh and his folk had done of castles and townships and that they had contrived and that which they had planted of trees and vines; it is also said that this means: that which they had built.

And Allah brought the Children of Israel across the sea, and they came upon, they passed by, a people cleaving in devotion to idols they had, constantly worshipping them.

When the Israelites have seen them (the worshipers of idols) they said unto Moses: ‘O Moses, make for us a god, an idol for us to worship, just as they have gods.’ He said, ‘Truly you are an ignorant folk, for repaying God’s grace to you with what you have said.

In other words, Allah brought the Children of Israel across the sea, and they came unto a people who were remnants of the people of Abraham, who were given up to idols which they had, who worshipped idols. They said: O Moses! Make for us a god show us a god to worship even as they have gods to worship. Moses said: Lo! are ignorant; you are a folk who do not know not the command of Allah.

QARIB: and we moved the children of israel from one side of the sea to the other, and they came upon a nation zealously devoted to the idols they had. they said to moses: ‘make a god for us, as they have gods. ‘ moses replied: ‘you are indeed an ignorant nation.

SHAKIR: and we made the children of israel to pass the sea; then they came upon a people who kept to the worship of their idols they said: o musa! make for us a god as they have (their) gods he said: surely you are a people acting ignorantly:

PICKTHAL: and we brought the children of israel across the sea, and they came unto a people who were given up to idols which they had. they said: o moses! make for us a god even as they have gods. he said: lo! ye are a folk who know not.

Why Did Allah Reward the Israelites With Victory?

Many people do not know Allah. This series (1-66) is an attempt to help them to know their Creator.

When the Israelites have seen them (the worshipers of idols) they said unto Moses: ‘O Moses, make for us a god, an idol for us to worship, just as they have gods.’ He said, ‘Truly you are an ignorant folk, for repaying God’s grace to you with what you have said.

In other words, Allah brought the Children of Israel across the sea, and they came unto a people who were remnants of the people of Abraham, who were given up to idols which they had, who worshipped idols. They said: O Moses! Make for us a god show us a god to worship even as they have gods to worship. Moses said: Lo! are ignorant; you are a folk who do not know not the command of Allah.

Verses 7:137-138 in different English translations of the meanings of Arabic Quran:

Verse 7:137

QARIB: we gave the persecuted nation dominion over the eastern and western lands which we had blessed. so the word of your lord, the finest, was fulfilled for the children of israel because of their patience; and we destroyed the edifices, and towers of pharaoh and whatsoever they manufactured.

SHAKIR: and we made the people who were deemed weak to mhent the eastern lands and the western ones which we had blessed; and the good word of your lord was fulfilled in the children of israel because they bore up (sufferings) patiently; and we utterly destroyed what firon and his people had wrought and what they built

PICKTHAL: and we caused the folk who were despised to inherit the eastern parts of the land and the western parts thereof which we had blessed. and the fair word of thy lord was fulfilled for the children of israel because of their endurance; and we annihilated (all) that pharaoh and his folk had done and that they had contrived.

YUSUFALI: and we made a people, considered weak (and of no account), inheritors of lands in both east and west, – lands whereon we sent down our blessings. the fair promise of thy lord was fulfilled for the children of israel, because they had patience and constancy, and we levelled to the ground the great works and fine buildings which pharaoh and his people erected (with such pride).

Verse 7:138

QARIB: and we moved the children of israel from one side of the sea to the other, and they came upon a nation zealously devoted to the idols they had. they said to moses: ‘make a god for us, as they have gods. ‘ moses replied: ‘you are indeed an ignorant nation.

SHAKIR: and we made the children of israel to pass the sea; then they came upon a people who kept to the worship of their idols they said: o musa! make for us a god as they have (their) gods he said: surely you are a people acting ignorantly:

PICKTHAL: and we brought the children of israel across the sea, and they came unto a people who were given up to idols which they had. they said: o moses! make for us a god even as they have gods. he said: lo! ye are a folk who know not.

YUSUFALI: we took the children of israel (with safety) across the sea. they came upon a people devoted entirely to some idols they had. they said: “o moses! fashion for us a god like unto the gods they have.” he said: “surely ye are a people without knowledge.
